Idli is India's oldest most sophisticated dish, is a fluffy and light steamed rice cake popular throughout South India. Idli is most often eaten at breakfast or as a snack, usually served in pairs with chutney, sambar, or other accompaniments.
Ingredients for Idli:
- 3 cups Par boiled rice
- 1 cup Urad dhall
- 2 tsp Salt
Directions for making Idli:
- Rinse and soak rice and urad dhall seperately in water for 2 hours.
- Grind the two seperately, and mix them together with salt.
- Keep it overnight, before making idlis.
